This article discusses the main direction of improving the state identification policy – the creation of digital profiles of citizens. The main approaches to understanding the digital profile are analyzed, based on which its definition is developed. The experience of implementing a digital profile in the United States of America and Western Europe is considered. The structure of the digital profile, positive and negative aspects of its implementation and use are reflected. The conclusion is formulated that it is necessary to eliminate the identified disadvantages by increasing the security level of the digital profile. Suggestions have been made regarding the implementation of the idea of creating a digital dossier on civil servants. The importance of the rapid development and application of information technologies is emphasized, which will improve public administration in terms of providing services to citizens.
