This article examines the importance of the advantage of the application of project and venture capital financing in the management of innovation in the regions of the Russian Federation. Attention is focused on the combined application of financing methods, which creates the basis for stimulating innovative activity, support of innovative enterprises and development of innovative infrastructure. The authors have analyzed the problems that arise from the application of project and venture financing.
