This work includes an analysis of oil and gas industry enterprises, important implementations, the main problems of the oil and gas industry and the main role of digital technologies in the field of activity under consideration. The article presents a calculation of the economic usefulness of the introduction of digital technologies at oil and gas enterprises with formulas and examples, an assessment of the success of projects for the introduction of digital technologies with examples of unsuccessful implementations in the oil and gas business. In addition, the article discusses the change in the required gross revenue (NVV) of the company. Further, innovations in measuring the effectiveness of the use of digital technologies at oil and gas industry enterprises with the development of new methods and models for calculating the introduction of digital technologies are analyzed. Finally, a new implementation mechanism has been developed in terms of procedures in the company, which will depend on (or possibly affect) company structure, top management, scale, raw materials and level of digitalization. Ultimately, the approach to measuring the effectiveness of the use of digital technologies in the oil and gas industry has been revised, the prospects for the use of digital technologies in the field of oil and gas business have been assessed, and recommendations for their use in the enterprises of the industry in question have been indicated.
