The modern economy is characterized not only by positive factors of continuous development and expansion of technological innovations, but also by the presence of criminal elements, including the shadow economy and corruption. These crimes are classified as economic crimes and entail huge losses for the state, expressed in financial and image costs. Currently, the Government of the Russian Federation is trying to solve the problems of economic crime, since they have a tangible impact on the country's security. At the same time, the development of technical capabilities and social processes as a whole presents the possibility of the emergence of new types of this crime. In this regard, the study of the nature and essence of economic crime becomes relevant. Its dynamics and factors, which this article is aimed at revealing. The article gives the concepts of economic security and crime, analyzes the statistics of crimes and their impact on economic processes in the country.
