At the moment, the sociology of national security is one of the most relevant and promising areas of scientific research. It is a branch of sociological knowledge that includes applied aspects of social, political, economic, technical, military, and humanitarian sciences. The purpose of the article is to analyze the history of development and features of the modern socio-philosophical concept of national security of the Russian Federation. The main task is to form a philosophical basis for the development of the methodology of a dynamically developing scientific discipline, relying primarily on the research and works of domestic authors in this field of research.
