The article reflects the results of the author's research on the problem of financial fraud in the Russian Federation. The research identified the main types of financial fraud, identified the main types of resources used by financial swindlers, determined the structure of channels for stealing money from the population. Based on the analysis of the distribution of individuals subjected to financial fraud, a portrait of a potential victim of financial fraudsters was drawn up.
