Relevance. At the moment, project management is still one of the most popular types of organizing the activities of companies in various industries, and the share of companies using project management in their activities is growing from year to year. Today, the classical approach to project management and its tools are losing their significance for the most part of industries and companies. This happens due to the fact that the global economy is extremely dynamic, and the external environment is becoming increasingly turbulent and unpredictable for companies. One of the tools that allows companies adapt to uncertainty and improve the efficiency of project activities is flexible project management.
The relevance of the study is due to the fact that at the moment many companies are interested in using flexible approaches to project management, especially in the field of information technology, however, not everyone manages to implement them successfully. Thus, there is a need to develop an algorithm, based on theoretical analysis, that can be used in practice by companies for faster and more successful implementation of such flexible approaches as Scrum and Kanban.
The objective of the study is to develop an algorithm for choosing and implementing the two most popular flexible approaches to project management, those are Scrum and Kanban, which can be applied in practice by companies involved in the field of information technology.
The research tasks come down to a theoretical analysis and comparison of the two most popular methodologies of flexible project management, as well as the definition of an algorithm that allows, depending on various factors and conditions, to choose the most relevant approach.
Results. Based on the analysis and comparison, the criteria were determined, on the basis of which an average algorithm for implementing flexible Scrum and Kanban approaches was formed.
