The article assesses the current strategy and likely future directions of China's policy regarding the development of the post-Soviet space. The historical aspects of the launch of the integration process of China and the post-Soviet countries are investigated, the trends of China's economic presence in the markets of individual post-Soviet countries (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Moldova, Georgia, Ukraine) are analyzed on the basis of data on export and import volumes for fifteen years. The forecast assessment of the probable prospects for the development of the post-Soviet space by China is presented. It is revealed that China has significantly increased its share of participation in foreign trade turnover with post-Soviet countries over the past decade and will increase this influence in the future, including by reducing the share of Russia, which made it possible to identify key risks for the selected countries and the Russian Federation.
