Small and medium-sized enterprises give the economy flexibility, allowing it to develop adaptability to the challenges of the external environment. In the framework of this article, the authors analyzed the role of SMEs in the economy of the EU and China. Taking into account the experience of state support programs implemented in t China, it is necessary to develop and improve state support measures, as well as the use of social capital.
