the article discusses the theoretical aspects of the human resource potential of the region, as well as its assessment in terms of quantitative and qualitative indicators. The analysis of the country's human resources potential is presented according to such indicators as the population of the country, the share of the able-bodied population, and also the natural movement of the population in Russia over the past six years is considered. The main problems in the regions of Russia concerning the staffing of the economy by young specialists are identified. An action plan has been developed for the development of human resources in the region, which is based on mechanisms of state, municipal and private interactions. Human resource potential, as a driver of the growth of the economy of the future, plays an important role in increasing the sustainability of the development of socio-economic indicators in the region. The data of the official statistics of Rosstat are used as an information base.
