The paper analyzes the provisions of the criminal legislation of the Russian Federation regulating the issues of combating the misuse of budgetary funds from the point of view of their social and criminal conditionality. Promising directions for improving the existing criminal law measures to combat this type of crime are substantiated. The serious danger of the criminal act in question for society and the state due to its economic content and social consequences is emphasized, since it threatens the normal functioning of financial and economic institutions in the state.
