PRODUCTION, CONSUMPTION AND SELF-SUFFICIENCY WITH AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS IN KHABAROVSK TERRITORY

At present, the issue of achieving a decent level of food security both for the whole country as a whole and for individual regions is acute. The goal is to provide the country's population with high-quality, healthy agricultural products of its own production, to achieve the country's independence from imports. The article discusses the current state of agricultural production in the Khabarovsk Territory by category of farms. The analysis period is from 1991 to 2021. Agricultural products such as potatoes, vegetables, fruits and berries, rice and soybeans are produced in the region. During the analyzed period, there is a decrease in the sown area of all agricultural crops in the Khabarovsk Territory by 43 %, including in agricultural organizations - by 53.5 %, and in households - by 69.5 %. Livestock production in the region is concentrated in agricultural organizations and personal subsidiary plots of the population, while in these categories of farms there is a decline in production in 2000-2021. The production of meat and meat products in farms of all categories has decreased by 46 % over 20 years; milk by 72.5 %, and only the production of eggs increased by 61.5 %. Data on the consumption of certain types of agricultural products per capita are presented. The level of self-sufficiency of the region with the main agricultural products is calculated: potatoes, vegetables, meat and meat products, milk and eggs by two methods. A comparative analysis of the obtained data was carried out. Conclusions are drawn about the need for structural changes in the industry, intensification of production, continued state support for all forms of management, as well as improving the standard of living of the population, since for many product groups the inhabitants of the region consume below the rational consumption rate recommended by the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences.
