ORGANIZED CRIME IN MARKET CONDITIONS

The article examines the direction of development of organized crime in the Russian Federation in the conditions of market relations with the aim of systematizing the criminal results of its manifestation in order to develop effective methodological recommendations for the fight against organized crime. The author comes to the conclusion that the end of the stage of existence of a type of organized crime has been fixed at the legislative level, the directions and nature of the activities of which were determined by the leaders of the criminal world, endowed with the status of “thief in law”, implying the occupation of the highest position in the criminal hierarchy, associated with unconditional authority and organizational and administrative powers allowing control over various areas of activity of criminal structures. The author identifies the reasons and conditions that determine the change in the form and structural and organizational content of criminal entities, as a means and way to achieve the main economic effect of organized crime in the conditions of integration into the system of market relations.
