This article discusses the issues of comprehensive assessment of the economic efficiency of transport infrastructure in the context of the regional economic system. The author emphasizes that traditional technical and economic indicators do not always adequately reflect the impact of the transport sector on the economy and social sphere of the region, as the influence of transport extends to many sectors. The paper is dedicated to analyzing the improvement of the structure and geographical distribution of transport hubs, as well as identifying the interrelationships between transport infrastructure and other elements of the regional economy. The article proposes an enhanced approach to planning and developing transport infrastructure with the aim of optimizing its contribution to the socio-economic development of the region, taking into account the multidimensional dynamics and diverse impact of transport on economic well-being.
