PECULIARITIES OF THE LEGAL STATUS OF THE HEAD OF STATE IN ENGLAND OF THE REFORMATION PERIOD

In this article the process of formation of absolute monarchy in England of the Reformation period is considered. The relevance of the topic of the research is conditioned by the absence of a single opinion among legal scholars and historians about the type of the form of government in the period of church reforms. In the course of analysing various theoretical approaches to this problem, the author of the article comes to the conclusion that there was an absolute monarchy in England of the Reformation period along with a class-representative body - parliament, which performed advisory functions. The present study analyses the number of parliamentarians in the period under consideration, its significant decline allows us to justify the concentration of the full power in the hands of the monarch. The result of the study is a reasonable proposal to consider the absolute monarchy in England in the "Tudor" period as a separate phenomenon with the name of Anglican absolutism.
