WESTERN THEORIES OF LEADERSHIP XX - XXI cc. AND TRADITIONS OF SUPERIORSHIP IN THE RUSSIAN ARMY

I.M. Starkovsky's book "The Chief" is examined as a cultural artifact reflecting the traditions of superiorship in the Russian army. The similarity of the principles of superiority stated in the book with the models and concepts of leadership and management, which had a serious influence on the Western scientific and popular scientific discourse of the XX and XXI centuries on the subject of leadership and management, is shown. Conclusions are drawn regarding the similarities and differences of the principles of leadership in different historical, sociological and ideological contexts.
