CRYPTOCURRENCY AS A SUBJECT OF MONEY LAUNDERING

The article analyzes judicial practice in cases related to the legalization (laundering) of criminal proceeds, where cryptocurrencies are used as a means of payment for the illegal sale of narcotic drugs. The heterogeneous position of the courts on the legal assessment of the conversion of cryptocurrencies into the currency of the Russian Federation is illustrated. The author concludes that it is necessary to recognize cryptocurrencies as the subject of crimes, responsibility for which is provided for in Articles 174 and 174.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
