The article examines the phenomenon of penetration of criminal jargon into the conceptual apparatus of forensic examination of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. The author attempts to explain the nature of the discovered phenomenon. The unification of the terminology of forensic examination is seen by the author as a way to overcome the clogging of the legal language.
