The article examines the issues of digitalization being introduced into the electoral process in Russia. The author examines the positive aspects of such implementation, as well as the risks associated with the use of electronic collection of voter signatures in support of the nomination of candidates. The author comes to the conclusion that the digitalization of the institution studied in the article provides citizens with a new quality of participation in the electoral process, which helps to strengthen citizens’ trust in elections. Currently, this direction should be considered as an additional way of expressing the will of citizens.
