The article reveals the essence and significance of the state's social policy. The key functions, levels and instruments of state policy to support older people are presented. The relevance of the research topic is due to the fact that improving the state’s social policy to support older people is extremely important for building a solidary civil society, increasing life expectancy and its quality in retirement age, as well as transmitting the knowledge of older generations to today’s youth.
