FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES OF PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION IN THE EU AND ADMINISTRATIVE LIABILITY FOR THEIR VIOLATION

The article examines issues of administrative liability for violation of the principles of personal data protection in the European Union. The author notes that the European Union has developed a system of imposing administrative fines, consisting of two levels, which are subject to collection depending on the type of offense in the field of personal data protection, providing for a differentiated approach to the imposition of administrative fines. The author comes to the conclusion that the fundamental principles for the protection of personal data outlined in the GDPR are mandatory for the countries of the European Union. This regulation on the protection of personal data forms a system of interconnected elements that makes it possible to bring a person who has violated the fundamental principles established in the GDPR to administrative liability throughout the EU.
