PROBLEMS OF MONOPOLIZATION: THEORY AND PRACTICE

This scientific article examines the phenomenon of monopolization in the modern economy, analyzing its theoretical aspects and practical consequences. The authors reference the historical context of the issue, citing classical economic thinkers, and provide relevant data from the OECD report on the rise of capital concentration and its impact on market competition. The article discusses both the negative consequences of monopolization, including a decrease in innovation activity and a slowdown in technological progress, as well as the potential advantages of large companies. Particular attention is given to theoretical approaches to understanding monopolies in contemporary economic science, specifically the theory of monopolistic competition and the concept of oligopoly. The study emphasizes the complexity of the monopolization issue and the need for further research.
