ISSUES OF CONCENTRATION OF PRODUCTION ACTIVITY IN AGRICULTURE

Concentrating agricultural production to a moderate level has a positive effect on ensuring food security by allowing to reduce costs of production and increase production efficiency. However, the high level of concentration on economic regions limits the competitive struggle between regions, does not create conditions for the wide use of the achievements of scientific and technical progress, and can have a negative impact on the sustainable development of regions. In order to solve these issues, there is a need to reveal the level of concentration of agricultural production in economic regions and to develop and implement measures to maintain concentration at an acceptable level. In the article, the level of concentration of crop and livestock products by economic regions was evaluated. From the point of view of increasing the production of agricultural products, scientifically based proposals on using the potential opportunities of economic regions have been given.
