LINEAR AND OPEN INNOVATION MODEL IN THE PRISM OF PREDICTIVE AND ADAPTIVE APPROACHES TO PROJECT MANAGEMENT

The paper examines the evolution from a linear innovation model to an open innovation model, in the light of the development of the innovation management knowledge area and the reginal studies knowledge area, the intersection of which created the very concept of an innovation model. The use of project management tools allowed us to identify the key difference between these two models, which does not consist in the subjects that form them, but in the features of managing the process of creating a result characterized by iteration and incrementality, which proved the need to apply an adaptive approach to innovation management in systems of any scale.
