The question of how to contribute to the sustainable development of the economy has become the focus of attention in response to the crisis of fossil energy and environmental pollution. China has invested heavily in research and development for the development and application of industrial technologies and has recently focused on the structure of the automotive industry on new energy sources, therefore, relevant data from three automakers — BYD, SAIC, NIO — for the period from 2017 to 2022, in which correlation regression is also performed, is selected for this article. An analysis to determine the relationship between NEV sales, R&D expenditures, per capita consumption, and the local green economy. Finally, the trajectory of the development of Chinese vehicles based on new energy sources is given.
