THE ROLE OF QUALITY OF LIFE IN FORMING SOCIAL ACTIVITY IN SINGLE-INDUSTRY CITIES

This article examines the phenomenon of single-industry towns in the Russian Federation from a philosophical and sociological perspective. Single-industry towns are viewed as a central element of the national development strategy for the next decade, as emphasized in the speeches of the country's top leadership, including the President of the Russian Federation at the meeting of the Council for Strategic Development and Priority Projects on July 13, 2016. The article classifies research papers into various epistemological domains, including strategic planning for the development of single-industry towns, labor potential dynamics, socioeconomic problems, and others. Particular attention is paid to the specifics of the social space of single-industry towns, new sociocultural phenomena, and the need for an integrated approach to the development of social infrastructure. The article also examines methods for assessing political freedoms and social tensions, emphasizing the lack of a unified methodology and the need to use various indicators. Attention is paid to the influence of economic, environmental, and social factors on the quality of life of the population of single-industry towns.
