This article presents a comprehensive study of energy collaboration between the PRC and the Russian Federation, sequentially examining its evolution since the 1990s and demonstrating the formation, by the present day, of a complex, multi-faceted model of interaction. The primary incentives for cooperation are the complementarity of supply and demand structures, the geopolitical situation, and the transformation of the global energy market, which provides both countries with opportunities in the area of energy security and economic advancement. Simultaneously, cooperation is associated with a series of difficulties. The author proposes developing an adaptable pricing mechanism, improving the system of financial settlements, and activating the development of infrastructure to ensure the long-term and stable development of the China-Russia energy partnership, based on mutual benefit.
