The purpose of the article is to identify the specifics of the consideration of individual labor disputes between athletes and coaches and to determine the ratio of competence between state and sports jurisdictional bodies. The results obtained demonstrate that the specifics of the work of athletes and coaches and the autonomy of sports regulation make efficiency, confidentiality and the availability of specialized expertise critical. The formation of a model of "hybrid jurisdiction" is shown, in which, along with labor dispute commissions and courts of general jurisdiction, there are jurisdictional bodies of sports organizations and permanent arbitration institutions (arbitration courts). The uncertainty of the status of the internal bodies of the federations has been revealed, which generates competition between jurisdictions and questions of their legitimacy.
Keywords:individual labor disputes, athletes and coaches, sports arbitration, hybrid jurisdiction, sports federations.
