THE ROLE OF KAZAKHSTAN IN STRENGTHENING RUSSIA’S TRANSIT AND LOGISTICS LINKS WITH ASIAN MARKETS: PROBLEMS AND DEVELOPMENT PROSPECTS

The article examines the role of the Republic of Kazakhstan in strengthening Russia's transit and logistics links with Asian markets against the background of the transformation of the global transport system and the growing importance of the Eurasian transport corridors. The purpose of the study is to determine the potential of Kazakhstani routes to ensure sustainable foreign trade relations of Russia, identify infrastructural and institutional constraints, as well as assess the prospects for further development of transit destinations. The study examines key areas of modernization of Kazakhstan's transport infrastructure, including the development of railways, expanding the capacity of border crossings with China, and the creation of multimodal logistics hubs in the Caspian Sea. Special attention is paid to the impact of these processes on the formation of new routes for Russia's foreign trade logistics. The study concluded that Kazakhstan plays a system-building role in shaping the new architecture of Eurasian logistics ties, and strengthening the transport partnership between Russia and Kazakhstan is an important condition for increasing the region's competitiveness at the global level.
