The Russian Federation is accelerating key development areas in engine engineering, one of the fundamental high-tech branches of mechanical engineering. These areas are focused on improving engines in various sectors, including aviation and shipbuilding, energy and automotive manufacturing, and rocket engine production. These areas also aim to strengthen technological sovereignty, which is the ability at the state level to independently develop, create, and apply critical technologies without the consequences of threatening dependence on external supplies. This is explained by the fact that engine manufacturing is a key factor in technological development and strengthening sovereignty, which is closely linked to the production of internal combustion engines, gas turbines, and rocket engines.
The author focuses on both companies' understanding of engine-building development trends and the issues of increasing the competitiveness of Russian products and the creation or updating of new engine varieties in numerous industries, for which companies, in particular, provide their own up-to-date component base.
Keywords:engine manufacturing, technological sovereignty, import substitution, mechanical engineering, production programs.
