Objective: to determine the amount of endothelin (1-21) in human serum in the presence of resistant hypertension. Materials and methods: the method of enzyme immunoassay was used to assess arterial stiffness. Conclusion: in the study group of patients with the presence of resistant hypertension, a significantly significant increase in the concentration of endothelin in blood plasma was found on average by 3.75 m/s (p<0.05). This indicates the presence of pronounced structural and functional changes in the vascular wall.

Keywords:endothelin, peptide, arterial stiffness, resistant hypertension, diabetes mellitus, dyscirculatory encephalopathy
