The current state of the problem of infl ammatory bowel disease

The modern analysis of literature on an etiopathogenesis, diagnostics and treatment of inflammatory bowel disease are presented in the review. Data on prevalence of these diseases are provided in the world and in Russia. Predictors of the development of inflammatory bowel diseases, the problem of comorbidity are considered. The difficulties of early diagnosis are determined. The principles of treatment using various approaches, issues of adherence to treatment were discussed. The need for a multidisciplinary approach to the diagnosis and treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases is indicated.
