One of the most relevant types of dental care is orthodontic treatment (bracket systems, aligners). This fact is associated with a high prevalence of dentofacial anomalies (CCA). The importance is given to the adaptation period, as one of the main stages of treatment. In this regard, a personalized approach should be used in practice taking into account the psychological characteristics of the patient to ensure maximum adherence to treatment. Materials and methods. Two groups of patients were distinguished (in group I, correction of AF was carried out by eliners; in group II, bracket systems). The characteristics of the adaptation period of patients in both groups were studied according to answers to 13 questions of a specially designed questionnaire (“Questionnaire of sensations of the orthodontic patient”). Results. More pronounced pain was recorded among patients with bracket systems, while the maximum peak pain was noted in the early days of the installation. Speech disorders were more common with the use of eliners. The number of patients who were ashamed of their orthodontic design was almost the same regardless of its type. Conclusion. The duration of the adaptation period with orthodontic treatment is 1-1.5 months, while the choice of design should be carried out by an orthopedic surgeon taking into account the psychological characteristics of the patient.
