Maxillofacial abnormalities in patients with cerebral palsy

Currently, cerebral palsy is an urgent medical and social problem due to its prevalence (3-5 cases per 1000 newborns) and a high degree of patient disability. The complexity of the treatment and prophylactic measures in such children is associated with the presence of discoordination of the central nervous system, damage to the motor apparatus, changes in motility, neuropsychiatric diseases and dentoalveolar anomalies. The article discusses the relationship of dentoalveolar anomalies and forms of cerebral palsy.
