The article describes the development of a methodology for a comprehensive assessment of the main sources of pollution and factors affecting the state of atmospheric air in populated areas. The difference of this technique is that when assessing the impact of vehicles, the type of development of the selected site is taken into account. Another difference is the assessment of the impact of undeveloped territories, the impact of new construction projects and the demolition of buildings and structures as sources of air pollution. Using the proposed methodology allows a comprehensive assessment of the main sources of pollution and factors affecting the atmospheric air of populated areas, as well as the categorization of the city.
