This review article presents the main mechanisms of the development of neurological disorders in COVID-19, taking into account the current pathogenetic mechanisms. Taking into account the peculiarities of the occurrence of neurological manifestations in SARS-CoV-2, the role of N-acetylaspartate in restoring the functions of the nervous system after a viral infection is of particular interest. The prevalence and variety of clinical manifestations of neurological (impairment of smell and taste, headache, leukoencephalopathy, necrotizing encephalopathy) and mental disorders (post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression) in COVID-19 are considered.
