Gestional diabetes mellitus as a risk factor of adverse pregnancy

The incidence of gestational diabetes mellitus tends to increase, this cannot but be reflected in the course of pregnancy. Even before the onset of pregnancy, a woman has certain risk factors for the development of gestational diabetes mellitus, which inevitably leads to the onset of the disease. In turn, gestational diabetes threatens not only the health of a woman, but is also able to influence the course and outcome of pregnancy, leading to the development of certain complications. The severity of these complications largely depends on the compensatory capabilities of the mother's body, which tend to decrease with age.
