This study is aimed at studying the expression of p53 and bcl-2 proteins in the sensorimotor cortex of the brain of white rats and the associated apoptosis processes in acute lead acetate intoxication. Morphometric analysis showed that in the control group of animals, p53 and bcl-2 were expressed only in single neurons. In rats, after administration of lead acetate, there was an increase in the expression of the proapoptotic protein p53 responsible for p53-dependent apoptosis.

Keywords:neurons, brain, apoptosis, ectopia of nuclei, shadow cells, necrosis.
