Hernioplasty with biocarbonic implant for large diaphragmal hernia

Rosenfeld Igor Igorevich  (Ph.D., surgeon, Tver State Medical University)

In this research work, the results of a two-layer laparoscopic hernioplasty for large hiatal hernias using a medical biocarbon implant were described. The long-term results of a randomized study on surgical treatment of large diaphragmatic hernias with a defect area of 10–20 cm2 were analyzed. From 2014 to 2020, 92 patients were operated on. During the operations, the patients were divided into 2 research groups: 46 patients underwent laparoscopic plasty of diaphragmatic hernias by posterior cruroraphy (group I), other 46 patients underwent plasty with an Ultrapro biocarbon implant (Ethicon) according to the developed method (group II).
