On the question of epidemiology and diagnostics of acute appendicitis

The article discusses the current state of the problem of the prevalence and diagnosis of acute appendicitis (АA). It has been shown that АA is not only a leader in the structure of acute surgical pathology of the abdominal cavity, but is also an important medical and social problem of society. The heterogeneity of registration of АA cases across the country is not a biological, but a purely organizational medical problem, since in regions where radiation or direct imaging of the appendix is not used, the indicators are higher. To overcome the underdiagnosis of АA, as well as to exclude unreasonable appendectomies, it is necessary to standardize the use of objective methods of radiation imaging of АA and the performance of laparoscopic appendectomy everywhere.
