Complications of liver cirrhosis are life-threatening for patients with this pathology, since the unfavorable outcome of the disease often depends not on the degree of hepatic-cell insufficiency, but on the manifestation of such complications as varicose esophageal-gastric bleeding, hepatorenal syndrome. In recent years, minimally invasive surgical interventions in the volume of TIPS have gained new significance for patients with complicated cirrhosis of the liver. If earlier TIPS was an intermediary before liver transplantation, now, after the accumulated extensive experience of such operations, it has become an independent manipulation, that gives a good decompression of pressure in the portal vein. At the same time, the number of invasive research methods for high-risk patients is decreasing and is being replaced by non-invasive methods. Our clinical observation is unique for two reasons: first, the results of treatment and monitoring of a patient who underwent TIPS surgery more than 11 years ago, and second, the patient has features of portal blood circulation and the need to refuse from invasive research methods in the last year due to a new coronavirus infection.

Keywords:liver cirrhosis, portal hypertension, transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic stent-shunt, MRI.
