Peculiarities of hematological and biochemical indicators of rabbits with different genotypes under the conditions of intensive technology

Modern industrial rabbit breeding is a source of a large number of stress factors, which are especially intense for young animals. Since the production of rabbit meat on industrial farms is based on obtaining interline and interbreed hybrids, the aim of the work was to study hematological and biochemical parameters in young rabbits with different genotypes under intensive technological conditions. Two groups of male young rabbits at the age of 77 days were formed for the work. The first group (n = 19) consisted of rabbits, which are the offspring of the parental female of the New Zealand White breed and the male of the Californian breed. The second group (n = 21) consisted of New Zealand males. Both groups of rabbits showed the presence of a stressful state in the animals’ blood. However, a number of indicators showed statistically significant differences between the groups. In hybrid rabbits, more erythrocytes were noted (11% at p <0.001), the concentration of hemoglobin (12% at p <0.001) and total plasma protein (9% at p <0.001) were higher. The fractional composition of proteins, suspension stability of blood and the activity of individual indicators of the coagulation system were also different, which has a significant effect on hemodynamic parameters in the microvasculature and the efficiency of metabolic processes. In general, the hematological and biochemical parameters of hybrid rabbits indicate their better adaptation to intensive technology.

Keywords:rabbits, blood, industrial rabbit breeding, technological stress, hematological parameters, biochemical parameters.
