Incomplete conversion of methylmethacrylate (MMA) to polymethylmethacrylate is an important issue of using acrylic resin in clinical dental practice. In the present paper, we investigated how cleaners for removable dentures influence on dynamics of MMA migration. Liquid chromatograph LC-20 was used to assess the dynamics of MMA migration into distilled water. Hypersil ODS-2 column with fixed phase was applied to fractionate the components transferred to water from polymers. The components were determined by the filtration of acetonitrile. It was shown that exposure of the cleaners for removable dentures during more than 40 hours significantly reduced MMA migration into water (up to 12.2% or 0.281 mg/l).

Keywords:methylmethacrylate, removable denture, cleaners for removable dentures.
