Laboratory diagnostics and sensitivity to antibiotics of causes of meningitis of meningococcal etiology

The article presents data on the study of the incidence of bacterial meningitis, the determination of the etiological structure and sensitivity to antibiotics of the identified pathogens. In the bacteriological laboratory of the RCIB, samples of cerebrospinal fluid, blood and mucus from the nasopharynx taken from patients with meningitis or with a suspected diagnosis were examined. The incidence of meningitis in Dagestan is increasing, exceeding the average for Russia. A change in the etiological structure of the identified causative agents of meningitis was noted. Antibiotic sensitivity has been determined, which will optimize the antibiotic therapy and reduce the number of complications.
