The article discusses the role and current state of semantic networks and web GIS in solving complex problems of ensuring the security of territories, including the emphasis on ensuring the safety of life with the help of the technologies under consideration. The main strategies for the development of interconnected geoportal solutions at the federal level are identified. The role of simantic links and web solutions in the formation and use of spatial data is revealed. The general concept of optimal and efficient use of spatial data using web GIS is proposed.
