Structure of penetrating eye injury infectional complications

This article presents the results of the analysis of the intraocular purulent infection as a complication of the eye penetrating injury development in the adult population based on the Republican Ophthalmological Hospital data. A decrease in the frequency of this complication by years was traced. Intraocular infection was more common in penetrating wounds of the cornea with intraocular foreign bodies and delaying in seeking medical care.
