Based on the monitoring of the water area of the Klyazma reservoir, the quality of water, sediments and macrophytes for heavy metal pollution was analyzed. It has been established that the water of the Klyazma reservoir in all the studied sites has a high degree of contamination according to the total effect of compounds with a toxicological indicator of harmfulness. Bottom sediments contaminated with heavy metals in all storages have an acceptable degree of contamination. Isolated cases of exceeding the approximately permissible concentrations of zinc in the range 1 (3.6 APC) were noted. The high absorption capacity of Typha latifolia L. in relation to Mn, Fe, Zn has been established. In relation to Cu and Pb, the absorption capacity of Lemna minor L. was higher than Typha latifolia L.

Keywords:bottom sediments, aquatic plants, monitoring, heavy metals, limiting hazard index, biological absorption coefficient.
