Phylloid tumor – literature review with examples from clinical practice

Phylloid tumors or leaf-shaped breast tumors are rarely diagnosed and account for about 1% of all breast neoplasms. At the stage of instrumental and laboratory studies, it is extremely difficult to carry out a differential diagnosis of a phylloid tumor. To date, there is no clear algorithm for the diagnosis and treatment of this neoplasm. However, the main diagnostic methods still remain: mammography, ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging of the mammary glands. And an effective method of treatment is surgical intervention, which is selected depending on the result of histological examination.
