Risks of influence of “COVID‑19” on the fetus in the first trimester of pregnancy, ways of solution

One of the most controversial and complex issues of COVID-19 is the course of the disease in the pregnant woman body. Medical communities around the world are studying the features of the COVID-19 virus infection development in pregnant woman, the risk of vertical transmission of SARS-CoV-2 infection, the issues of radiation diagnostics, the safe prescription of effective etiotropic treatment for pregnant woman and her fetus. The pandemic of a new coronavirus infection makes an even more urgent problem for obstetricians and gynecologists about the effect of the virus on the fetus’ development, especially in the first trimester of pregnancy. This article discusses the review data of various Russian and foreign authors, which requires meticulous study and evaluation of the Covid-19 development on fetus. Some of the authors found that COVID-19 contributes early termination of pregnancy: “the most miscarriages due to COVID-19 in the first trimester were caused with the development of placental insufficiency.”
