Tuberculosis occupies a leading position among secondary infections in the structure of mortality in patients with HIV. At the same time, insufficient knowledge of the mechanisms of synergistic influence, as well as significant difficulties in morphological diagnosis in the combination of such diseases, due to the atypical course of tuberculosis against the background of immunosuppression, leads to a worse prognosis and a decrease in the likelihood of a successful outcome of treatment. This review characterizes and describes the pathogenetic mechanisms and clinical and morphological forms of tuberculosis that underlie the concomitant infections of HIV and tuberculosis, which makes it possible to identify new patterns during the co-infection process, and will allow the use of the data obtained in the diagnosis and treatment of dual pathology.

Keywords:HIV, tuberculosis, co-infection, pathomorphology, pathogenesis
